  • Shape Matters for Light-Activated Nanocatalysts
    11:47 - Sep 19 2020

TEHRAN (FNA)- Points matter when designing nanoparticles that drive important chemical reactions using the power of light.
  • Sub-Nanoparticle Catalysts
    12:33 - Sep 16 2020

TEHRAN (FNA)- Due to their small size, nanoparticles find varied applications in fields ranging from medicine to electronics. Their small size allows them a high reactivity and semiconducting property not found in the bulk states. Sub-nanoparticles (SNPs) have an extremely small diameter of around 1 nm, making them even smaller than nanoparticles. Almost all atoms of SNPs are available and exposed for reactions, and therefore, SNPs are expected to have extraordinary functions beyond the properties of nanoparticles, particularly as catalysts for industrial reactions. However, preparation of SNPs requires fine control of the size and composition of each particle on a sub-nanometer scale, making the application of conventional production methods near impossible.
  • Iranian Company Exports Nanoscopes to Asian, Latin American States

  • Nanomaterials for Treating Hemophilia, CVD
    12:57 - Aug 22 2020

TEHRAN (FNA)- Inserting genetic material into the body to treat diseases caused by gene mutations can work, scientists say -- but getting those materials to the right place safely is tricky.
  • Scientists Build a Better Nanoscale LED
    10:19 - Aug 16 2020

TEHRAN (FNA)- A new design for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) developed by a team including scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) may hold the key to overcoming a long-standing limitation in the light sources' efficiency. The concept, demonstrated with microscopic LEDs in the lab, achieves a dramatic increase in brightness as well as the ability to create laser light -- all characteristics that could make it valuable in a range of large-scale and miniaturized applications.
  • Iranian Airplanes Decorated with Home-Made Nano Paint
    15:08 - Aug 11 2020
