Iran Unveils First Home-Made Light Plane

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran unveiled its first home-made double-engine light plane Monday morning.

The one-manned plane, named 'Faez', has a full composite structure and weights 175kg. With a maximum speed of 220 km/h and a light structure, the plane enjoys high flexibility and maneuverability.

An emergency parachute has been planted inside the plane to rescue the plane and its pilot in emergencies. The plane can be assembled and brought into operation in less than 5 minutes.

Among other features, designers said that extra fuel tanks can also be installed in wings and the body. High mobility as well as its cheap price are among other features of the plane.

Faez which enjoys an amphibious landing capability is capable of carrying reconnaissance tools and equipments, medical cargoes and mail parcels, and designers said that these capabilities and its other potentials have made it an appropriate choice not only for patrolling and surveillance missions, but also for sports and recreational purposes.
